Communication and Homework:
-Agenda's and Night books are vital to our communication- teacher, student, and parent.
-Each day, students will write their homework, important dates, and other information in their agenda and will use their night book to complete written homework assignments.
-Also, any notes or additional communication that needs to be sent home will also be inside your child’s Homework Folder.
**Please make sure you are checking your child's agenda and homework folder EACH night and are initialing agendas nightly.
Nightly homework includes:
**It is important students are completing HW as it is an extension of our in class work. I do not grade HW for right or wrong answers, but it is taken as a participation grade each week.
Grading Policy:
This year, students will be graded on an A-F scale. You will be able to check your child's grade on POWERSCHOOL. Powerschool is an online grading and student information site. To receive your login information for Powerschool, please contact the HRA Main Office at 980-343-5511.
The table below shows what percentage each letter grade equates to.
A: 90-100%
B: 80-89%
C: 70-79%
D: 60-69%
F: 59% and below
Each Thursday, your child will come home with their graded work from the prior week. Please sign and return the signature sheet AS WELL AS the graded work back to school on Friday’s. You will get this graded work back at the end of each quarter.
**Social Studies/ Science are taught split throughout each quarter. We will spend half the quarter teaching science ans half the quarter teaching social studies.
**Reading/Math instruction occurs daily. Students are tested after each unit. Any grade on a reading or math assessment that is below a 60 warrants a re-teach and re-test of the standard.
After the re-test, I will average the two test scores and enter that as the students’ grade in Power school. Students will be re-tested on the standards anytime up to 10 days after the original test was given.
